Stonebound Souls (SBS) offers an immersive and dynamic roleplaying experience, akin to Dungeons & Dragons, but within the intriguing cyberpunk landscape of Old Rock. Unlike traditional tabletop RPGs, this game unfolds in real-time over X Spaces each week, providing the public a unique opportunity to witness a live performance of a captivating story.

What's truly exciting is our development of a unique user interface. Envision players with individual screens, each linked to their wallet, and spectators enjoying a comprehensive overview. Spectators can witness the live game, observe player actions, and even have the opportunity to earn some $DENSITY.

How do I play?

To participate in Stonebound Souls, acquiring a Goliath NFT character and securing an advance ticket are essential prerequisites. The purchased ticket determines your class and level. Following ticket acquisition, the next step involves character creation through our dedicated dashboard where you select your specific stats, abilities and skills.

The game structure unfolds across one story made of four modules, with each module played at a specific date & time each week. Missing a game session results in the forfeiture of the player's deposit, and the fate of their character may hang in the balance, contingent on the circumstances in which they left their character during the prior game.

Real storytelling!

The dynamic orchestration of Stonebound Souls is led by a skilled Game Master who not only maintains the balance and mechanics of the game but also collaborates with the players to weave a compelling and immersive story. Acting as both guide and storyteller, the Game Master ensures that the gameplay is fluid, the challenges are engaging, and the unfolding narrative captures the imagination of all participants. Their role is pivotal in creating a harmonious blend of interactive storytelling and strategic gameplay within the cyberpunk world of Old Rock.

Setup

Players will encounter four buttons, each representing a distinct "ability focus" trait aligned with the class specified on their ticket. Each class offers only four choices for the ability focus, delineating the primary focal point of their character class.

Purchase Outcome:

• The purchased ticket will append specific metadata traits to the selected Goliath NFT, including:

  • Name of the Stonebound Souls campaign (e.g., Whispering Sands Saga).

  • Selected ability focus trait (e.g., Constitution). [Applicable only to the initial campaign - the selection becomes permanent for the Goliath]

  • Character class and level determined by the ticket variety (e.g., Fighter lvl 2).

  • Attributes Rolling: [Applicable only to the initial campaign - the scores become permanent for the Goliath unless modified within the campaign]

For Attributes Rolling:

Each class's corresponding ability scores are established by rolling four six-sided dice (4d6) and discarding the lowest result, summing the three highest rolls to yield a score between 3 and 18. Players can then allocate the four results to the ability scores of their choice.

As an alternative to rolling and assigning scores manually, players have the "Let fate decide" option, where the rolls occur automatically and are assigned accordingly. However, choosing this option provides a +2 bonus to the focused trait.

Dynamic NFTs

The intertwining of the in-game narrative with the tangible elements of Stonebound Souls is a unique feature where the fate of your character directly influences your Goliath character's metadata. In the event of your character's demise, this transformation is visually manifested in the NFT's art, capturing the impact of your in-game experiences.

Similarly, acquiring significant items or landmarks within the game resonates in both the metadata and art of your NFT, creating a dynamic and evolving reflection of your character's journey in the cyberpunk realm of Old Rock. It's a captivating integration that adds a layer of personalization and storytelling depth to the collectible aspect of the Goliath NFTs.

Custom simplified D20 modern ruleset

Stonebound Souls is a distinctive tabletop roleplaying game that blends elements from D&D 3.5e/Pathfinder with modern rules reminiscent of D&D 5 and D20 modern. Our custom version of the D20 modern system is designed to be easily accessible, condensed onto a single web page. This allows newcomers to tabletop storytelling games to quickly grasp the rules and dive into the enjoyment without sacrificing the depth of essential game mechanics.

Moreover, Stonebound Souls introduces a completely unique array of items, armor, weapons, and equipment tailored to the fantastical cyberpunk world of Old Rock. This bespoke setting includes a special game mechanic centered around the Goliath disease, presenting a unique effect on characters who choose to play with a Goliath NFT character infected by the Goliath disease. This distinctive feature adds an extra layer of intrigue and challenge to the gameplay, making each character's journey in the world of Stonebound Souls truly one-of-a-kind.

Reusing a Goliath NFT in a different campaign

You have the option to reuse your Goliath NFT from a previous campaign, provided it's still alive. To do so, simply purchase any available SBS ticket and pay an additional 50% fee on top of the ticket price to continue with your existing character. When opting for this, you can resume playing from the exact character level and stats where you left off in the previous story. There's no need to revisit the character creation screen. This option is ideal if you aim to progress to the top level and attain mastery over your chosen class.

Current status

We've recently conducted playtesting on our end, and if you're keen-eyed, you might catch a glimpse of what's in store. While there's ongoing work to balance game mechanics, we're also gearing up for a substantial website update. Although it's not quite ready for public access yet, we assure you that the wait will be worth it.
